Renovations Underway!

Yesterday marked the beginning of our renovation projects. Yes, I know we only have 12 weeks left until we have a new baby in the house. Yes, I know that we should have started this a long time ago. However, with 2 pregnant ladies in the house and very little ventilation in the winter months, it was too difficult to start anything. That all changed yesterday!

Here is what our kitchen floor looked like when we first bought our house last July (notice the ugly vinyl flooring):

And this is what it looks like now (subfloor goes in tomorrow):

Feels good to have that eye sore gone. Kurt was also busy tearing up the ugly green tile in our entry-way. Here is the mess he made today during demolition day!

Trust me when I say it was ugly and did not match a thing in the house. This is only step 1 in our renovation project. Tomorrow Kurt will start laying the subfloor and hopefully next weekend he will be able to start tiling the entry-way and kitchen. In the next few weeks we will get the rest of the house painted and also replace the carpet. We still have a ways to go (and by we, I mean Kurt) but it should all be done well before Riglee makes her entrance!
