31 Weeks and Counting!

Yesterday we hit 31 weeks. This means that we have 9 weeks to go and have officially hit single digits! Now that I feel so much closer to having our little girl I've been thinking back to the first few weeks of pregnancy. I've been thinking about the amazing feeling we had when we found out we were pregnant, the shock, disbelief, and unbelievable excitement in that moment is still overwhelming. At 9 weeks pregnant our little girl was just a little dot in my belly and we were just praying that she was developing properly. It was the week before we first heard her heartbeat, a sound that still gives me butterflies and excitement every time I hear it. And here we are, 9 weeks left until she decides to join the outside world. 9 weeks until she is out from the safety of my protective belly. 9 weeks until I'm not the only one taking care of her. It really is unbelievable everything that Kurt and I have gone through up until now and every day gets more and more amazing still!

The past few days Riglee has been a moving machine! I'd swear she is practicing dance in there because she has been moving from side to side and up and down all day, every day! She so might just be excited because she knows her cousin was born this past Monday and we've been spending a lot of time at the hospital with her! I hope to get a little video of my belly moving around but as soon as I go to stare at it she stops moving. It figures! Here are a few updates on what Riglee is up to this week:
  • She should be around 16 inches long and 3.3 lbs (or about as heavy as 4 naval oranges)
  • Major brain and nerve developments are happening this week
  • All 5 senses are now in working order
  • And, as always, she is packing some baby fat on to her little frame
