Everyone brought a dish to pass and this year I made roasted garlic mashed potatoes and a pumpkin cheesecake. I've never made a cheesecake before and decided that instead of a test run the weekend before Thanksgiving, I'd just wing it and hope for the best on Wednesday night. Luckily, the pumpkin cheesecake was awesome and if you want the recipe you can get it HERE.
Thanksgiving makes me so happy for many reasons. First, it is a holiday that revolves around food (um, yes please)! It's also a holiday about family and giving thanks for the many blessings in life. How often do we really take the time to reflect on the good things in our life. This year I am most thankful for my own family. It is amazing how Riglee has made my life complete. She has not only expanded what it means to love someone but she has made my love grow stronger for Kurt as well. To watch him be such an amazing father to her has only made my heart bigger and love him more. I can see how much he loves her every.single.time he looks at her and it just melts my heart!
The weekend before Thanksgiving Riglee also discovered her feet! She suddenly realized she has these other limbs she can control. It's so cute watching her try to get her feet in her mouth too. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that she's that flexible though. Let's hope she grows out of it...
We also put up our very first Christmas tree and holiday decorations last Sunday. We are so excited to spend our first Christmas at home with our little family. We have all of our decorations up and it feels so festive and warm! All I need is some Christmas music and we are in business!
