December is Busy!

So I am trying to think of everything that has gone on since my last post. This has been a very busy month with Christmas and all. We were supposed to go to IL for the Reuland family Christmas party but we ended up getting a lot of snow and traveling was out of the question, especially with a little baby girl. Sadly, later that week Kurt's grandpa (Mary's dad) passed away. It was expected since his dimensia has been getting worse, especially since his grandma passed in May. It was very tough, especially around the holidays and right before Mary's birthday. We took that time to also see Kurt's other grandma, Grandma Chucky. She has never met Riglee so we did a photo op to capture the moments!

This year we also decided to stay home for Christmas so we can spend our first Christmas as a new little family in our own house. So we went home to Minocqua on December 17-19 to do our family Christmases. On Friday night we went to dinner with Kurt's family to celebrate Mary's birthday (12/18). Saturday was Mary's actual birthday so we had a fun breakfast of donuts and salami (um, YUM-O!) and exchanged Christmas gifts in the morning. Then I went to see my mom and Maddie with Riglee while Kurt and his mom spent some one-on-one time. We had a lot of fun with my mom, Mads, and Aunt Barb. Kurt came by in the afternoon and we exchanged Christmas gifts there too. It was a very nice weekend because we got to spend some quality time with both of our families and it was just so relaxing.

We had an unfortunate accident while up north. On the way into town from seeing my family we hit a deer. We missed the first two and a third one jumped out and we hit that one. The bumper got messed up and the grill is cracked and it was a total bummer. Sunday morning we just relaxed with Kurt's family. Riglee took a mid-morning rest (meaning we put her in the crib and she didn't sleep but had some quite time) and when we finally went in to get her this is how we found her:
