One little known symptom of pregnancy (at least little known until you are a first time mom) is bloat. Ohmygosh my pants are already too tight to button comfortably! If you are not aware of this symptom you could easily believe that you are starting to show at the early stage of 6 or 7 weeks. Not so. It is actually just the uncomfortable beginning of bloat!
At this point most of my pants are plain old uncomfortable. My work pants are ridiculously tight and really only 1 pair is semi-comfortable. My jeans are low rise so they are not so bad...as long as I don't eat anything that is! So I am stuck at this stage in between being my normal self and being a pregnant lady. To the naked eye I have maybe just put on a little holiday weight around the mid-section and am just muffin-topping over my jeans.
To combat this most uncomfortable stage I have invested in a BeBand. This BeBand has been a lifesaver at work! You put this band over the top of your pants and up onto/over your stomach. You can then leave your pants unbuttoned and the BeBand holds your pants up! Small miracles really do make life better. With jeans I find that this doesn't work as well so I have been sticking to the old fashioned method of using a hair tie and wrapping it around my button, through my button hole, and back around my button. Then I can leave my pants unbottoned and the hair tie holds my pants together up top. So far it's worked alright. I hear that bloat starts to go away around 12 weeks and I am seriously counting down the days until I can buy some maternity clothes so I'm comfy again!
