As you may already know, I am part of an online's woman group on TheBump.com. We all support each other, answer random mommy/baby questions, and sometimes just gossip. It's really nice having a group of women as friends that have babies all born around the same time to discuss motherhood with.
One of the moms posted a link to this fun blog, Hanging with Dad. It's about a stay at home Dad and his adventures with his son. He just wrote a post titled Lesson Learned: Mama is King where he explains how, even though he is the one who spends the majority of his time with their son, when it comes to comfort and love, babies tend to want their mothers. Great post from a dad's point of view!
I have actually thought quite a bit about this, especially when Riglee is sick or scared and all she wants is me (and all I want is a nap). But there is something inherently heartwarming about the fact that when it comes down to it, there is a level of comfort Riglee gets from me that she can't find anywhere else. Yes, Kurt will probably always be the one the kids run to for fun, and I am okay with that. But when the going gets tough, she wants her mama. Nature vs. nurture at work again, in her finest form.
