Little Tidbits

Riglee turned 5 weeks yesterday and I just can't believe how time is flying by. This past week or so has been so much fun with her! Riglee is now starting to be more aware of her surroundings and is now really recognizing Kurt and I. She is starting to coo and now we "talk" to each other. Riglee is also starting to smile, on purpose! We've even been able to make her smile when we talk to her! Honestly, there is nothing like your own child's smile to melt your heart and turn you into complete mush.

I brought Riglee into work again yesterday to introduce her to my boss who didn't get to see her last time. He asked me a question that a lot of people have asked. He asked "what is the most surprising thing?" I have to say that everything has been surprising, both good and bad. I mean, we knew what we were getting into when we decided to have a child but we never really knew what that really meant. It's surprising how completely dependent Riglee is on us and how our lives have changed because of that. I always thought breastfeeding would be this very easy and natural thing but it was surprising how much it took out of me and at the same time how wonderful a bond it created. It's surprising how much poo and puke can come out of one little girl! It's surprising how much fuller both my heart and my life feels with Riglee in it! Not only that, but I love Kurt more now because he is such an amazing dad and loves Riglee so much! Kurt and I always say "my cup runneth over" when we feel complete and Riglee has redefined complete for both of us.

And now.....some pictures!!
