Glucose Testing - Check!

So today I had my glucose test. Everyone makes it out to be this huge and awful test but it really isn't that bad. The worst part is not eating sweets all day or my usual bagel for breakfast! Needless to say, I was pretty dang hungry by the time the test was over. The drill goes like this: 3 hours before your blood is drawn you cannot eat or drink anything, then 1 hour before your blood is drawn you have to drink this orange drink that tastes like super sweet orange soda without the carbonation, then your blood is drawn and you wait a couple days for the results. If you fail the first test then you have to go back and take a 3 hour test and if you fail that then you have gestational diabetes. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

In the meantime, I met with my doctor again today. Seriously, I've never had a male doctor but this guy is awesome!! I stinkin' love him. Dr. Dumermuth is my OB-GYN and he has been just wonderful. He always takes the time to see how things are going and will answer any and all questions I have. He never rushes me or makes us feel like he has a million other patients. And he is very educational and takes the time to explain everything in our terms, not doctor speak. So I got measured, weighed, and got to hear the heartbeat again. I still love the sound of Riglee's heartbeat more than any other sound in the world! He said we are both doing great! Overall weight gain is about 22 lbs so I'm right on track. And to prove it, here is my week 26 picture!

  1. Girl, you look fantastic! And that is great that you are so happy with your doctor. I've never had a male gyno, but this one sounds like he is very empathetic and will make L&D a lot easier for you!
