Mother's Day 2011

Wow, Mother's Day was amazing this year! I am so truly blessed with the family I have and am happier today than I ever thought possible!! On Mother's Day I woke up around 8:45am (at my leisure, not to a crying baby) and, after laying in bed for a little bit, strolled into the kitchen to find my wonderful husband making breakfast for me. He was going to serve me breakfast in bed but I ruined that plan by waking up. Riglee had already gone down for her morning nap so we ate a quiet breakfast of french toast and homemade american fries. Kurt did the dishes (WOOHOO!) and we relaxed and enjoyed each other's company until Riglee woke up a little later that morning. After some play time, lunch, and another nap we decided we'd head to the playground in our neighborhood. Riglee absolutely loves the swings so we spent a lot of time on those!

Notice the sweet Nikes she's wearing...Daddy picked those out!
After the playground we went to Target and the grocery store together. It was a relaxing afternoon and just nice to spend all day as a family together. After Riglee went to bed Kurt made me a wonderful dinner and even did the dishes again (if he was trying to turn me on by doing the dishes, it totally worked)!! To top off my day he gave me a back and foot massage. I have to say, the whole day was perfect, better than I imagined! Mother's Day helped me look back over the past 9+ months and be so thankful for how blessed I am. Motherhood fills my heart with love when I thought there was no more love to give. If you ever saw the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" then you might remember how, at the end of the movie, the Grinch realized the meaning of Christmas just as the sleigh full of Whoville's presents is about to fall off the cliff. The Grinch jumps down on his stomach to grab the sleigh and try to drag it back up. All of a sudden it shows an x-ray of the Grinch's heart and it grew to 4 times its size and broke through the box and he was able to save the sleigh! Well, that is how my heart feels every time I look at my daughter and my little family....my heart grows every day!

Here are a few more pics of the day:

I love the pouty face!
She not only stole daddy's heart but she's making sure he knows how it is!
