Busy Weekend

So this past weekend was really busy, especially compared to my complete weekend of sleep earlier this month. Friday night we celebrated our good friend Jenny's birthday with a surprise bonfire and party at her house. It was supposed to rain but ended up being a pretty awesome night (minus the humidity). The party lasted until about 1:30am which was just a hair past my bedtime but it was totally worth it!

Saturday I was totally wiped out. I can't seem to sleep in anymore so I was up fairly early which was okay because I had some major errands to run. By the time I was done running errands it was lunch and time to watch the World Cup, England vs. USA (the game ended in a tie in case you didn't watch)! When that was over we headed over to our friend's engagement party (congrats again to Lexi and Joey). Followed by a trip to our other friend's house for his pool party. Sadly Saturday was overcast and we had misty rain all day but we still had a great time with friends. I actually called it an early night and came home around 9:00pm but Kurt was able to stay out and party for the both of us!

On Sunday Kurt's extended family threw me a wonderful baby shower in Illinois. The food was good, the cake was delicious, and we got some amazing gifts. Riglee now has more clothes than I know what to do with for a little baby. I just want to put all the outfits on her at the same time so she can wear them all! We also got a lot of practical items like diapers, the bouncer, the bedding set, and the swing, among many other gifts. It still seems like there are so many things to buy but we'll have to take inventory after we get the room setup. I can't thank his family enough for their generosity and support of our new little family. We also stopped by to see a friend that we hadn't seen in awhile. We got to meet her 4 month old baby boy who has great boyfriend potential for Riglee in the future. We'll see how it goes...

All this activity made for a very very tired mommy-to-be. We came home at about 6:00pm and I promptly cuddled up to Kurt on the couch and fell asleep for almost 2 hours! I woke up briefly to eat dinner (can't skip that) and fell back to sleep until 10:00pm when I got up and went back to sleep in bed. Whew, I'm just exhausted thinking about it again. Overall, just a great weekend to spend with family and friends!
