Grandma Chucky


This past week we lost Kurt's last grandparent, Grandma Chucky. She was such a sweet, loving, kind, happy woman and she was really the glue that held the family together. She will be greatly missed by everyone. My fondest memory of her was at Kurt's cousin's wedding. Kurt completely messed up our swing dancing move and I ended up mooning everyone at the wedding while wearing what seemed like dental floss for underwear. After slinking off the dance floor and getting a double of whatever the bartender would pour me (since I was underage at the time) I sat down next to Grandma Chucky. I told her that I couldn't believe I just mooned everyone. She looked at me with caring eyes and a smile on her face, patted my arm and said "Well, at least you have a nice ass!" I will never forget how she immediately made me feel better with a quip like that one. And that is Grandma Chucky, the eternal optimist.

We were lucky that we got a few really great pictures of her with Kurt, his sisters and their kids this past Christmas. Here are a few to share:
